Crocheted Slippers

Woolly Issues VS. Woolly Wonders

You can find so many wonderful wools in the yarn shops now and in amazing colours to brighten up our days as well as our spirits.
One of my first memories is of a sweater my grandmother knitted for me… She has never been one to care much about the colour palette and mostly went for blues and greens, which I, being a 4 year old girl, did not care for much.
So when she gave it to me, I was so happy to see that it was bright pink – my favourite colour then and still now.
There was just one very unfortunate issue – the wool was SO itchy, so I did not like wearing it.

Even today I still feel so sorry that all her hard work was useless because of the choice in wool.

Whenever I go wool shopping, I am always very aware that the wool has to be soft to the touch, and for these slippers I chose a merino wool from Sandnes Garn. If you do not have access to this yarn, Schachenmayr offers a wonderful variety of colours – see HERE.

Anyway back to the crocheted slippers? They are SO comfy – not an itch in sight!!
You can choose to do them in one colour or striped. The instructions are available for both… or why not do one of each?! The texture is made by using front post and back post stitches.
Afterwards you can decorate them with as many stars as you wish.

Winter days ARE lazy days so is there anything better during the cold Winter months than a relaxing day at home?
You will find me snuggling on the sofa with a cup of hot chocolate, wearing a pyjamas and my crocheted slippers… Most likely rewatching “The Holiday” for the umphteenth time.
