Crocheted Fruit Basket

online shopping vs locally

There are pro’s and con’s to both shopping locally and online. I do love to support local businesses and the service is always great. You get to see the actual colour of the yarn and feel the softness before purchase.
This is of course not possible with an online purchase. However more often than not there is a larger variety of yarns and the quality of the pictures have improved. This also means the colours are much like in reality. So far I have not been disappointed.

My last browse online resulted in me buying a ball of ribbon yarn from Katia just to try it out. I was not yet sure what to make, so I put it away till inspiration would come

Others have succeeded in making such wonderful baskets, so I thought I might give it a go… Starting off with single crochets in a circle to create the base.
To my surprise the project worked up quite quickly – one of the benefits of using a 12mm hook – so quickly I nearly forgot to take pictures!?

This crochet pattern strikes a perfect balance. It is beginner-friendly, with clear, step-by-step instructions and basic stitches, making it accessible to novices. Yet, it harbors an intriguing challenge, as you refine your skills and maybe even learn a new stitch or two.

A fruit basket holds a special place in my heart as a wonderful gift for a hostess. It is a gesture of gratitude and a symbol of thoughtfulness. Arranged with an assortment of ripe, colourful fruits, it not only adds a burst of natural beauty to the hostess’s home but also offers a delicious, healthy treat for them and their guests.
