– Herringbone Double Crochet (HBDC) –

The Herringbone Stitch is so named as it resembles a fishbone. It creates a beautiful and sophisticated texture both in the round or back and forth. You can either crochet Herringbone Double Crochet (HBDC) or Herringbone Halfdouble Crochet (HBHDC).

Herringbone Double crochet

Instructions

Place your yarn around the hook and push the hook through the “V” – place the yarn around your hook again and pull back through the “V”.
You now have three loops on your hook.

Pull the first loop through the second loop. You now have two loops on your hook.
Place the yarn around your hook and pull through only one loop.
Herringbone Double crochet
Herringbone DC
Place your yarn around your hook and pull through both loops closing the stitch.
