You have probably crocheted storage baskets before and they tend to be very bendy. However this storage basket is crocheted on a smaller hook size than recommended, and so the stitches become tighter and sturdier. I have also added a hidden row of slip stitches at the bottom of the sides. This row not only makes the switch between bottom and side more distinct, but it also helps to carry the weight of the side.
