double treble crochet (DTR)

Double Treble Crochet is considered a basic stitch, but it is not used that often. You will find this stitch is more commonly used for doilies or other lace work.
The reason for this is that the stitches are very long and therefore creates a holey and loose pattern.

Instructions

Place your yarn around the hook three times and push the hook through the “V” – place the yarn around your hook again and pull back through the “V” – you now have five loops on your hook.
Place the yarn around your hook and pull through the first two loops – you now have four loops on your hook.
Place the yarn around your hook again and pull through the first two loops – you now have three loops on your hook.
Place the yarn around your hook again and pull through the first two loops – you now have two loops on your hook.
Place the yarn around your hook again and pull through the two remaining loops.
